It is the world’s first national-level exhibition themed on imports.

The hosting of the China International Import Expo was personally planned, proposed, deployed, and promoted by President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China. It is a major decision made by China to advance a new round of high-level opening up, and a significant move for China to proactively open its market to the world.

The China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as the CIIE) was personally planned, proposed, deployed, and promoted by President Xi Jinping. It is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee with a view to promoting high-level opening up in the new era, a significant move for China to proactively open its market to the world, and a practical action for China to promote the building of an open world economy and support economic globalization. The Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to it. Since its first holding in 2018, President Xi Jinping has delivered keynote speeches or addresses at the opening ceremony for five consecutive sessions and sent congratulatory letters to the sixth China International Import Expo.

Hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., the CIIE includes sections such as the National Comprehensive Exhibition, Enterprise Commercial Exhibition, Qianhong International Economic Forum, professional supporting activities, and cultural and people-to-people exchange activities. In accordance with the general requirement of \”getting better and better\”, the quality of the exhibition has continued to improve, its international influence has become more extensive, and it has promoted market connectivity, industrial integration, innovation promotion, and rule linkage between China and the world. Relying on China’s large market advantage, it plays the functions of international procurement, investment promotion, cultural and people-to-people exchange, and opening-up cooperation. It has become a window for China to build a new development pattern, a platform for promoting high-level opening up, and an international public good shared by the world. It has made positive contributions to accelerating the building of a new development pattern and promoting world economic development, and has won widespread praise at home and abroad.

We sincerely welcome political and business leaders from various countries, exhibitors, buyers, and representatives of enterprises to participate in the exhibition and conference, expand the Chinese market, share development opportunities, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. We are willing to work with countries around the world and international organizations to build an open world economy, build a community with a shared future for mankind, promote economic globalization to develop in a more open, inclusive, people-centered, balanced, and win-win direction, and promote common prosperity of the world economy and trade.
